Use Promo Codes
The first thing I look for when shopping online is a promo code for whatever site I'm wanting to shop from. Applying promo codes to your order can save you money or get you more for your buck.
One of my favorite places to shop is Forever 21. You can usually find a 10% off promo code for them online. Beware that the 10% code usually comes with stipulations (all items in your cart will be final sale). However, I've had luck with using the 10% off promo code with sale items (which are already final sale) so it's a win. You can also find better promo codes for Forever 21 just search around.
H&M has some of the best promo codes I've ever seen (20% and 25% off). These codes are also sometimes stackable. Which means you can combine them in your shopping cart for even more savings.
Quite a few retailers offer online promo codes. Just type the name of the retailer and "promo codes" in your search engine and see what you can find. I've had luck with Ralph Lauren,
Charlotte Russe, and A'GACI as well.
Buy Multi-Use Items
When shopping for clothing I buy them with multiple outfits in mind. So let’s say I buy 3 bottoms (jeans, skirt, pants, etc.) and 3 tops. I make sure that all of those items can be combined in some way or combined with items that I already own. You don't have to buy new clothes to make new outfits.
Sign Up For Deals
Sign up with your e-mail address on you favorite websites to be the first to know about a sale or deal. I've also received promo codes from retailers through this method.
RetailMeNot is like a gold mine of deals. It allows users to post deals, discounts, and promo codes that they find (both online and in-store). I can't tell you how many deals I've found. It will change your life. Here are the app store links for Apple and Android.
Try to find what you're looking for at resale shops like Plato's Closet and Buffalo Exchange. You can find a little bit of everything for a low price. These stores also give you the option to trade in your clothes for money or store credit. I'm sure we all have some items in our closets that are just taking up space. Take advantage.
Shopping is even more fun when you're saving. Keep a lookout for more tips!
