Have you planned out how you would pay for an unexpected expense? What is your backup plan for life's curve balls? Having a plan can save you a lot of money and stress. A problem with a pre-anticipated solution can be pretty much painless. Earlier this week while driving home from work a light on the dash began to flash. It read the words "Steering Assist Fault Service Required". Immediately after that the power steering stopped working.
My exit was coming up soon, but maneuvering over was quite the challenge and being in the middle of Houston traffic didn't help one bit. Long story short...I managed to make it home safely. I called the dealership and had the car towed there. The service department manager was kind enough to arrange a tow after hours with no cost to me. The next 2 days I carpooled with my boyfriend (even if that meant arriving at work 3 hours early). I found somewhere to nap until it was time for me to "clock in". Now I have my car back and because I purchased an extended warranty when I purchased the car I only paid a $100 deductible for the repairs. Which I imagine could've been a lot more. Even though I didn't expect to spend that $100 I had it saved and available for such a thing. I'm honestly just happy to know that I am not only driving again, but driving safely.
